1st NAS Conference, Sweden 2017


This 3-days meeting will include 25 selected talks from abstracts (20 min each) and 2 poster sessions presenting cutting-edge autophagy research in the Nordic and Baltic countries. The conference starts on Monday, October 30th at 14:00 and ends on Wednesday, November 1st at 12:30.

This year  NAS will award at least 11 young researchers with a 200 Euro travel grant (see below). Sponsored by The Company of Biologists

Location: Sigtuna, the oldest city in Sweden located just 15 minutes from Stockholm-Arlanda Airport.


The registration fee includes conference attendance, all meals, and 2 nights at the hotel, Sigtuna Stora bränbo, which offers a genuine Scandinavian atmosphere in the heart of Sigtuna.

Single room: €360 per person
Double room: €320 per person (sharing room with one other person).
Excluding hotel accommodation: €210.

Note: Payment of the conference fee will lead to a personal membership in the Nordic Autophagy Society (NAS) for 2017. The membership is non-binding, and members may cancel their membership at any time. Memberships can be volounterely renewed in 2018. Young researchers travel grants.

Eligibility:  postdocs, PhD student , master students and bachelor students are eligible to apply for the travel grant.

Application: Please send your application as a single pdf file to Nikolai Engedal (​nikolai.engedal@ncmm.uio.no). The application should include:
1.     Your  name
2.      Current employment
3.      Affiliation
4.      E-mail
5.      A brief description of why you are applying for a Travel Grant (max 200 words) + provide information of how you presented your work at the meeting (talk and/or poster).
6.      Calculation of your total travel costs
7.      Scans of travel documents that show the prices for each part of the travel
